DRDO Recruitment 2026 – Deputation/Absorption Basis

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has officially released a recruitment notification for 188 posts on Deputation/Absorption basis vide Advertisement No. DOP/AA1/68080/Depu/Cir on 12 February 2026. These vacancies are available for various posts including Joint Director (Administration), Joint Director (Accounts), Administrative Officer, Accounts Officer, Stores Officer, Private Secretary, Addl. CCE, and others across DRDO establishments throughout India.

This is a deputation/absorption recruitment — it is meant for eligible Central/State Government employees, Armed Forces personnel, and employees from PSUs/Autonomous Bodies/Statutory Bodies governed by Government rules. Direct candidates or fresh applicants are not eligible for these posts. Applications must be submitted through the Proper Channel only, i.e., through the Cadre Controlling Authority.

All eligible and interested officers must submit their applications within 45 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar. Incomplete applications, those not forwarded through proper channel, or those without attested APARs will be summarily rejected.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be serving officers in Central/State Government, Armed Forces, PSUs, or Statutory/Autonomous Bodies governed by Government rules. They must have the requisite pay level and service experience as specified against each post in the official notification. The maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date of application.

Service Conditions

• Period of deputation: Ordinarily not exceeding 3 years.
• Officers must not be under vigilance/disciplinary proceedings at the time of application.
• Candidates in the feeder category (for direct promotion) are NOT eligible for deputation.
• APARs for the last 5 years (2019-20 to 2023-24) must be enclosed with the application, duly attested by the Cadre Controlling Authority.
• Vacancy count may increase or decrease due to administrative reasons.

Selection Process

There is no written examination. Selection is made through:

1. Scrutiny of Applications received through proper channel.
2. Review of APARs and service record by the competent authority.
3. Deputation/Absorption as per Government of India norms and eligibility.

3. Attach self-attested copies of APARs for last 5 years (2019-20 to 2023-24).
4. Submit application through Proper Channel with Cadre Controlling Authority counter-signature.

6. Direct/email applications will be rejected. Physical/postal submission through proper channel is mandatory.
