Important Dates for SSJU Recruitment 2026

Important Instructions:

• Applications sent by Speed Post/Registered Post: Must reach the university office on or before 02 March 2026 by 5:00 PM. Applications received after this date and time will not be accepted
• Hand Delivery: Candidates can personally submit applications at the Registrar Office, SSJU Almora during office hours (10 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday) on or before 02 March 2026
• Envelope containing application must be super-scribed: "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _____________ (mention post name)"
• University will not be responsible for postal delays; candidates are advised to send applications well in advance
• No individual communication regarding receipt of application will be sent; candidates can check status on university website
• All further communications regarding interview schedule, venue, and selection will be published on university website only
• Candidates must regularly check official website www.ssju.ac.in for updates

Application Fee for SSJU Recruitment 2026

Mode of Fee Payment:

• Application fee must be paid through Demand Draft (DD) only
• DD should be drawn in favor of "Registrar, Soban Singh Jeena University" payable at Almora
• DD must be drawn from any Nationalized Bank or Scheduled Bank
• Write your Name, Post Applied For, and Contact Number on the reverse side of the DD
• Attach the original DD with the application form
• Cash, Cheque, Online transfer, or NEFT/RTGS will NOT be accepted

Important Instructions:

• Application fee once paid is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances
• Applications without proper fee payment or with incorrect DD details will be summarily rejected
• Candidates applying for multiple posts must pay separate application fees for each post
• DD should be recent (issued within 1 month of application submission)
• Keep a photocopy of DD for your records

Age Limit for SSJU Recruitment 2026

Age Relaxation for Non-Teaching Posts:

Age Calculation Date: Candidate's age will be calculated as on 02 March 2026 (closing date for application).

Important Information:

• As per UGC Regulations 2018 and subsequent amendments, there is no upper age limit for direct recruitment to teaching positions (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor) in universities and colleges
• This no-age-limit provision ensures experienced professionals and researchers can enter academia at any stage of their career
• For non-teaching administrative positions, upper age limits are prescribed as per university service rules
• Age proof document: 10th/High School certificate showing Date of Birth will be considered final
• Candidates claiming age relaxation must submit valid certificates issued by competent authority

Educational Qualification as per UGC Regulations 2018

For Professor Position:

• Ph.D degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in university/college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor AND/OR research experience at equivalent level in university/research institution/industry
• Published work demonstrating continuing contribution to knowledge: minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals as books and/or research/policy papers
• Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process
• Evidence of having successfully guided doctoral students and research students
• Academic Performance Indicator (API) scores as per UGC criteria (minimum required score from Category III)
• Master's Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade (First Class for Engineering/Technology)

For Associate Professor Position:

• Ph.D degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016
• Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in point scale wherever grading system is followed) in relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
• Minimum 8 years of experience of teaching and/or research in academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/Industry (excluding period of Ph.D research with evidence of published work)
• Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, technology-mediated teaching learning process
• Minimum API score as prescribed by UGC from Categories I, II, and III
• For professional disciplines like Engineering, Law, Pharmacy: Relevant professional experience may be considered

For Assistant Professor Position:

• Master's Degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from accredited foreign university
• AND one of the following:
  • Candidates must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET OR
  • Ph.D degree in concerned/allied/relevant discipline as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 and their amendments (NET exemption applicable for such candidates)
• For Engineering/Technology disciplines:
  • First Class B.E/B.Tech AND First Class M.Tech/M.E in relevant branch
  • GATE qualification OR Ph.D in relevant discipline
• For Law:
  • LLM with minimum 55% marks from recognized university
  • NET/Ph.D as per Bar Council of India norms
• For Pharmacy:
  • M.Pharm in relevant specialization with 55% marks
  • GATE/GPAT qualification OR Ph.D

For Assistant Librarian Position:

• Master's Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade
• NET/SLET in Library & Information Science OR Ph.D in Library/Information Science
• Knowledge of computerization of library, Library Management Software, Digital Libraries
• Desirable: Knowledge of latest trends in library automation, institutional repositories, open access resources

For Non-Teaching Administrative Posts:

• Administrative Officer: Master's Degree with 55% marks + 5 years administrative experience in university/government organization
• Accounts Officer: M.Com/MBA (Finance) with 55% marks + Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (ICWA) qualification preferred + 3 years experience
• Assistant Registrar: Master's Degree with 55% + 3 years administrative experience in university/college
• Other posts: As per detailed advertisement and University Statutes

Important Notes:

• 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST candidates (50% instead of 55%)
• NET/SLET/SET requirement waived for candidates awarded Ph.D as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016
• All qualifications must be from UGC recognized universities or AICTE/ICAR/PCI approved institutions
• Foreign degrees must have equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
• Experience certificate must clearly indicate designation, duration, and nature of work
