## Attractive Salary and Benefits Package
Selected candidates will be appointed in Pay Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix with a monthly remuneration of Rs. 35,400/- initially, which can go up to Rs. 1,12,400/- with regular annual increments and promotional opportunities. The entry pay of Rs. 35,400/- per month translates to an annual package of approximately Rs. 4.25 lakhs initially.
Technical Assistants at CSIR-NPL are entitled to numerous allowances including Dearness Allowance (DA) which is revised twice annually based on inflation indices, House Rent Allowance (HRA) ranging from 8% to 24% of basic pay depending on posting location (for New Delhi, HRA is 24%), Transport Allowance for commuting expenses, and other special allowances as applicable.
## Detailed Eligibility Criteria for Each Position
For Mechanical Engineering positions, candidates must possess either a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (3 years full-time course or 2 years lateral admission) with minimum 60% marks and 2 years of relevant experience in the mechanical engineering field, OR a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 60% marks and 1 year of relevant work experience.
For Electronics Engineering positions, candidates need a Diploma in Electronics Engineering (3 years full-time or 2 years lateral admission) with at least 60% marks plus 2 years of relevant experience, OR B.Sc. in Electronics/Applied Electronics or equivalent with 60% marks plus 1 year of relevant experience.
For Computer Science/IT positions, candidates must have Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology with 60% marks and 2 years of relevant experience, OR B.Sc. in Computer Science/IT or equivalent with 60% marks and 1 year of relevant experience.
## Age Limit and Relaxations
Candidates applying for Technical Assistant positions must not exceed 28 years of age as on the closing date of online application i.e., 27th February 2026. However, age relaxation is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories and special categories as per Government of India norms. The age relaxation is as follows: SC/ST candidates - 5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates - 3 years, PwBD (General) - 10 years, PwBD (OBC) - 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST) - 15 years, Ex-Servicemen - As per government rules.
