Important Dates and Timeline

Important Instructions Regarding Dates:

• Applications received after 09-02-2026 will not be entertained under any circumstances
• ECHS will not be responsible for postal delays or non-delivery of applications
• Candidates are advised to send applications well in advance
• For applications by hand, office hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on working days
• Saturday and Sunday are holidays - plan application submission accordingly
• Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview
• No separate intimation will be sent for rejection
• Candidates should regularly check their email and phone for updates

NO APPLICATION FEE is required for ECHS Jalandhar Recruitment 2026. All eligible candidates, regardless of category (General/SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD), can submit their applications completely free of cost. This is in accordance with ECHS policy and Ministry of Defence guidelines to provide equal opportunities without financial barriers, especially for ex-servicemen and their families.

Age Limit and Relaxation Policy

Important Notes on Age Limit:

• The liberal upper age limits are specifically designed to accommodate ex-servicemen and retired medical/paramedical professionals
• Retired government doctors and medical staff are eligible and encouraged to apply
• Ex-servicemen can add their entire defence service period to the upper age limit
• Age will be calculated as on the last date of application submission (09-02-2026)
• Date of birth as per 10th standard certificate or birth certificate will be accepted
• Candidates seeking age relaxation must submit valid certificates from competent authority
• OBC certificate should contain Non-Creamy Layer clause valid for current financial year
• PwBD certificate must be issued by medical board constituted by Central/State Government
• Ex-servicemen must provide discharge certificate and pension payment order as proof

Educational Qualification Requirements

For Medical Officer (Specialist) Positions:

Specialist Medical Officer (Medicine/Surgery/Orthopedics/Gynecology/Pediatrics/Psychiatry):

• MBBS degree from recognized Medical College/University
• Post-graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) in respective specialization from recognized institution
• Valid permanent registration with Medical Council of India (NMC) or State Medical Council
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification clinical experience in relevant specialty
• Experience in government hospitals/medical colleges preferred
• Proficiency in diagnosis, treatment protocols, and patient management

For Medical Officer (MBBS) - General Duty:

• MBBS degree from recognized Medical College/University in India or abroad
• For foreign medical graduates: Valid equivalence certificate from NMC
• Valid permanent registration with State Medical Council (Punjab Medical Council preferred)
• Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in OPD/IPD settings
• Knowledge of common diseases, emergency medical care, and primary healthcare
• Computer literacy for electronic medical records and digital health systems

For Dental Officer:

• Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from recognized Dental College/University
• Valid permanent registration with Dental Council of India or State Dental Council
• Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in any specialty will be an added advantage
• Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in dental practice
• Proficiency in dental procedures including extractions, fillings, root canal treatment
• Knowledge of dental radiology and oral health programs

For Nursing Staff (Staff Nurse/Nursing Sister):

• B.Sc. Nursing OR General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from recognized nursing institution
• Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing (for higher positions)
• Valid permanent registration with State Nursing Council (Punjab Nurses Registration Council)
• Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience in hospital settings
• Knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care protocols, and emergency management
• Experience in OPD, IPD, ICU, or emergency services preferred

For Pharmacist (Grade-I/Grade-II):

• Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) OR Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) from recognized institution
• Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) for senior positions
• Valid permanent registration with State Pharmacy Council
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in hospital/retail pharmacy
• Knowledge of drug inventory management, dispensing practices, and pharmaceutical calculations
• Computer proficiency for pharmacy management software
• Understanding of drug interactions, contraindications, and storage requirements

For Laboratory Technician (Pathology/Biochemistry):

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) OR B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical laboratory (hospital/diagnostic center)
• Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment (microscopes, analyzers, centrifuges)
• Knowledge of sample collection, processing, testing, and reporting
• Experience in hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology tests
• Understanding of quality control, biosafety, and laboratory management

For Radiographer/X-ray Technician:

• Diploma in Radiography Technology OR B.Sc. in Radiography and Imaging Technology
• Valid license/registration from authorized body (if required by state)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in radiology department
• Proficiency in operating X-ray machines, digital radiography equipment
• Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and protective measures
• Experience in positioning patients and producing quality radiographic images

For Physiotherapist:

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) from recognized institution
• Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) for senior positions
• Valid registration with State Physiotherapy Council
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in physiotherapy department
• Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and rehabilitation techniques
• Experience in handling geriatric patients preferred

For Data Entry Operator (DEO):

• Bachelor's degree from recognized university (any stream)
• Diploma/Certificate in Computer Applications (DCA/PGDCA/CCC)
• Typing speed: Minimum 30 words per minute in English OR 25 wpm in Hindi
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Knowledge of database management and data entry software
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in data entry/computer operation
• Accuracy and attention to detail in data entry work

For Clerk/Office Assistant:

• Bachelor's degree from recognized university
• Typing speed: 35 words per minute in English OR 30 wpm in Hindi
• Computer knowledge: MS Office, email, internet browsing
• Knowledge of office procedures, file management, and correspondence
• Good command over English and Hindi (written and spoken)
• Knowledge of Punjabi language will be an advantage

For Support Staff (Peon/Ward Boy/Safai Karamchari):

• Minimum qualification: 10th Standard Pass from recognized board
• For Ward Boy: Knowledge of basic patient care and hospital hygiene
• Physical fitness to perform assigned duties including lifting and carrying
• Willingness to work in hospital environment in various shifts
• Basic understanding of cleanliness and hygiene protocols
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain discipline

Special Preference:

• Ex-servicemen and their dependents will get preference in selection
• Candidates with experience in defence hospitals/medical establishments
• Those who have worked in ECHS polyclinics previously
