Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for appearing in PSTET 2026. Candidates of any age who meet the educational qualification requirements can apply for the examination. However, age criteria will be applicable as per recruitment rules when applying for actual teaching positions in schools.
Qualification
Educational Qualification for PSTET 2026
For Paper 1 (Classes I to V - Primary Level):
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks AND 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) as per NCTE Regulations 2002 OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks AND Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from NCTE recognized institution
For Paper 2 (Classes VI to VIII - Upper Primary Level):
- Graduation with at least 50% marks AND 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) OR
- Graduation with at least 45% marks AND 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) as per NCTE Regulations 2002 OR
- Graduation with at least 50% marks AND Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from NCTE recognized institution OR
