IREL Chavara Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Complete Information

IREL (India) Limited, Chavara Unit, has released an exciting opportunity for young aspirants through its Apprentice Recruitment Program 2026-27. This recruitment initiative offers 89 apprenticeship positions across various technical and non-technical disciplines under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961. The apprenticeship program is designed to provide hands-on industrial training and practical exposure to fresh graduates, diploma holders, and ITI pass candidates. The Chavara facility, situated in the coastal region of Kerala, is one of IREL's premier manufacturing plants engaged in mineral processing operations. The apprenticeship program offers an excellent platform for young professionals to gain industry experience in a Government of India undertaking while receiving monthly stipend and training allowances.

Apprentice Categories and Disciplines

The 89 apprentice positions are distributed across multiple categories including Trade Apprentices, Technician Apprentices, Graduate Apprentices, and specialized positions. Trade Apprentice positions are available for ITI qualified candidates in disciplines such as Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Electronics Mechanic, and other allied trades. Technician Apprentice vacancies cater to diploma holders in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Instrumentation Engineering. These positions provide exposure to advanced technical operations and maintenance activities. Graduate Apprentice positions are open for degree holders in Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) and Science (B.Sc/M.Sc) streams. Graduate Apprentices receive training for one year with possible extension based on performance and organizational requirements. During the training period, apprentices receive monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act and relevant government guidelines. Trade Apprentices typically receive stipend in the range of Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 9,000 per month. Technician Apprentices are paid higher stipends ranging from Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 12,000 monthly. Graduate Apprentices receive stipends between Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 15,000 per month depending on their qualification level. Apart from the stipend, IREL also provides food coupons valued at Rs. 1,500 per month to all apprentices. This benefit significantly reduces the living expenses for candidates, especially those coming from distant locations.
