Age Limit and Eligibility Criteria

Age Requirement:

Important Points Regarding Age:

• Since these positions are specifically for retired defence/CAPF personnel, candidates would naturally be above 35-40 years of age
• The upper age limit of 62 years provides significant scope for retired personnel to apply
• Age will be calculated as on the closing date of application (28th February 2026)
• Candidates must not have attained 62 years of age on 28-02-2026
• Date of birth as mentioned in discharge certificate from defence services will be considered final
• No age relaxation is applicable as positions are contractual and designed for ex-servicemen

Physical Fitness Requirements:

For Advisor (Security):

• Should be in good health and physically fit to perform supervisory and field inspection duties
• Able to visit various port locations and facilities independently
• No serious medical conditions that impair mobility or cognitive functions
• Medical fitness certificate from registered medical practitioner may be required
• Vision: Should be able to read and write without difficulty (corrective glasses allowed)
• Should be capable of working in outdoor conditions including port area visits

For Junior Associate (Security):

• Should be physically fit to perform security duties including patrolling and surveillance
• Able to stand for long periods and perform walking duties
• Capable of working in various weather conditions
• Good eyesight (corrective lenses acceptable)
• Hearing ability sufficient to detect alarms and communicate effectively
• No serious medical ailments that prevent active security duty
• Medical examination will be conducted before final appointment

Retirement Certification:

• Candidates must be already retired from defence services (not serving personnel)
• Discharge certificate/Pension Payment Order (PPO) must be submitted as proof
• Character certificate from last commanding officer required
• No adverse remarks in service record
• Should not be involved in any criminal proceedings or disciplinary action

Educational Qualification and Experience Requirements

For Advisor (Security) - 1 Post:

Essential Educational Qualification:

• Basic Degree (10+2+3 pattern) from a recognized University in any discipline
• Graduation in any stream is acceptable (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com/B.Tech/B.E.)
• Distance education/correspondence degrees from UGC recognized universities are acceptable
• Candidates should have completed formal graduation before joining armed forces (if applicable)

Essential Experience and Background:

• Mandatory: Retired personnel from Armed Forces (Army/Navy/Air Force) or Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF)
• Minimum rank of Colonel or equivalent at the time of retirement from defence services
• Equivalent ranks in other services:
  • Navy: Captain
  • Air Force: Group Captain
  • CAPF: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) or equivalent
• Minimum 25-30 years of total service in Armed Forces/CAPF
• Extensive experience in security management, intelligence operations, or operational planning
• Experience in handling security of critical infrastructure/installations will be highly preferred
• Command experience at battalion/unit level or equivalent
• Should have held security-related appointments during service career

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

• Post-graduate degree in Security Management, Defence Studies, or related field
• Specialized training in counter-terrorism, maritime security, or port security
• Experience in coordination with intelligence agencies and law enforcement
• Knowledge of ISPS Code and international maritime security standards
• Familiarity with modern security technologies and surveillance systems
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Good communication skills in English and Hindi (Marathi knowledge is an advantage)
• Computer literacy including MS Office and security software applications

For Junior Associate (Security) - 2 Posts:

Essential Educational Qualification:

• Minimum 10th Standard Pass (SSC/Matriculation) from a recognized Board
• 12th Standard Pass (HSC/Intermediate) is preferred but not mandatory
• Graduation or higher qualification will be an added advantage
• Relevant security-related diplomas or certificates will be considered favorably

Essential Experience and Background:

• Mandatory: Retired personnel from Armed Forces (Army/Navy/Air Force) or Central Armed Police Forces
• Minimum rank of Havildar/Equivalent or above at the time of retirement
• Equivalent ranks in other services:
  • Navy: Leading Seaman/Petty Officer
  • Air Force: Corporal/Sergeant
  • CAPF: Head Constable/Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI)
• Minimum 15 years of service in Armed Forces/CAPF
• Experience in security duties, patrolling, access control, or guard duties
• Good conduct record throughout service career
• Should be medically fit for security duties involving physical activities

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

• Higher education (12th Pass/Graduation)
• Experience in handling security equipment, CCTV systems, or access control devices
• Training in fire safety, first aid, or emergency response
• Computer literacy (basic MS Office, email, internet)
• Ability to work in shifts including nights and weekends
• Physical fitness to perform patrolling and field duties
• Good observation and reporting skills
• Disciplined, alert, and responsible attitude
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations
• Knowledge of local language (Marathi) for effective communication

Special Preference:

• Veterans who have served in counter-insurgency operations or high-security zones
• Personnel with gallantry awards or commendations during service
• Those with experience in port security, coastal security, or maritime operations
• Candidates with specialized security training certifications
• Ex-servicemen from Mumbai/Maharashtra region (for better local knowledge)
